In relationship therapy, we have an initial joint session where both parts of a couple (or all individuals in a relationship) explains the concern(s) that are occurring in their relationship, their understandings of the problem, hopes for therapy and additional background.
I will then meet with each individual before we come back together to discuss a plan moving forward. Couples sessions/relationship sessions are 75 minutes in length. Clients typically find it beneficial to start with weekly / bi-weekly sessions, and this is what I recommend; frequency will be tapered-down as needed.

Sex therapy can take place in an individual or couple format, depending on the nature of the concern and client’s wishes. Sex therapy is talk-therapy; there is not ever physical contact between a therapist and client(s). We will spend the first few sessions discussing your sexual concern and broader sexual and personal history/histories in order to understand the factors contributing to your concerns; from here we will formulate a plan based on your hopes or goals. I work with people experiencing the following sexual concerns:
-
mismatched desire
-
enhancing sexual intimacy
-
pelvic pain / pain during sex
-
fertility issues
-
erectile difficulties
-
inability to have penetrative sex
-
ejaculation difficulties (rapid or delayed)
-
difficulties with orgasm
-
sex and disability
-
navigating kinks and fetishes
-
enhancing sexual communication
-
questions around sexual identity
I understand how difficult it can be to discuss concerns that are sexual in nature, for some (many!) folks.
I bring lightness, humility, understanding and compassion to these conversations and we can discuss the concern(s) you face at a pace that makes sense for you.

We will spend the first few sessions understanding the concern(s) you bring to therapy, your personal history and the changes you would like to see. From there, we develop a plan. The focus of my work has been on issues related to relationships and sex/sexuality, and seizures as well as:
-
life transitions
-
identity
-
self-esteem
-
trauma
-
feeling stuck
-
chronic stress
-
anxiety
-
communication
-
chronic health issues

Insurance
Many health insurance plans provide some coverage for psychotherapy; please contact your insurance provider to understand what kind of coverage you have. Considerations: type of practitioner that is covered (I am an RSW with an MSW) and limits to the coverage (total coverage per year, per session, # sessions covered per year and/or % of fee covered per session.)
Tax Deductible
Treatment provided by Registered Social Workers has been recognized as an income tax deductible medical expense by Revenue Canada.
