About
Stephanie (She/Her)
Kindness, compassion and understanding are at the core of my work.

I’ve learned that when we can really slow down to understand our place of stuckness, to understand how we got there— then we can gain the insight we need to learn how to take small steps towards change. We can move from a place of despair to a place of hope and growth. And so, whether you are coming to therapy as an individual or a couple, this is my starting place. I love attachment theory for this reason, because it can help therapists and clients alike make real sense of how and why people do what they do and, importantly, how it is that they get stuck. From here, I tailor my approach to client need. But, what is consistent is my focus on building collaborative and trusting relationships with my clients. When you are working with me, I want you to feel understood, accepted, respected and safe. I describe my approach as relational, trauma-informed and strengths-based, and I am known for bringing kindness, levity and care to my work with clients.

I love doing this work. Every day I meet with a client, I get to witness courage in action. Come join me!

Professional Development:
Relationship Therapy
Certifications & Continuous Education:
I have trained in two evidence-based approaches to relationship therapy: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, and pursue ongoing clinical supervision from therapists who specialize in couples therapy.
Sex Therapy
I am an Associate Member with the Board of Examiners in Sex Therapy and Counselling in Ontario (BESTCO.) My training in sex therapy is from a systemic lens; I work with clients to understand the concern in question from a perspective that considers the biological, relational, psychological and environmental factors that create and maintain the concern in a person or couple’s life. Once achieving this understanding, our work together will involve targeting the contributing factors. I pursue ongoing clinical supervision from therapists who specialize in sex therapy.
